MEET OUR CANADIAN TEAM GOING TO PAN AMS
Gabe is the result of our Little Tigers program. He started with us when he was 4 and a half years old, and has trained ever since. He is now the only Alberta karate athlete who has medaled twice at a Pan American level.
For the past year Gabe has been getting ready to compete again for Canada, and aiming to place in the top 5 at Pan Ams with a strong focus to stand on that podium again. This would earn him a spot on the Canadian Team going to the Jr World Championships in Chile later this year.
Vale started karate when she was 10 at our Cougar Ridge dojo, in only two years she was starting to become competitive. Valeria is the only female athlete from Alberta to ever win two consecutive Nationals. Valeria is a very focused athlete and we are sure she will represent us very well in Ecuador. She also has her sight on the Jr World Championship and looking to place in te top 5 at Pan Ams, but with a clear sight on the podium. She has been preparing for a year for this challenge.
Richie is our youngest and our rookie. He started karate at the age of 6, and moved to our dojo at 10. Richie is one of our few dual athletes, he made the provincial team in both Kata and Kumite, and made the Canadian Team in kumite this year. Richie has been working very hard, he trains at our regular classes, does extra private time for Kata with Sensei Osuna, trains with Sensei Luis and lately has been working with Sempai Carson. Richie will compete in the 12 to 13 years of age.
